We are in the final day of our American summer. After many hoops and hurdles, we have booked our tickets, cleared our COVID tests, and filled out our paperwork for our eagerly awaited return journey to Bolivia. Tomorrow (Aug 14th) we depart for our seven hour flight and we hope to arrive safely in Santa Cruz, Bolivia the morning of the 15th. There we will have to quarantine in a designated hotel for seven days before finishing our last leg to La Paz. We are excited and anxious as we await the journey and all its hardships, but we relish the chance to take this leap of faith and start our journey together in La Paz.

Teacher work days have begun, and we prepare for the upcoming school year at Highlands, the first semester of which is all online. Audrey will be working as a teacher's aide in the elementary department, while I continue to teach all the social studies courses, as well as a semester long class of creative writing. As we launch into the school year the vibe is different from years past. Like most of life in 2020, it is laced with uncertainty and many questions with answers unknown. A full semester online is not ideal, and many of us are curious to see how this all plays out.

I am thankful for the summer we had, and the many shared memories we got to make with the people we got to see. Despite the circumstances I feel like we were able to spend a lot of time seeing friends and family. Thank you to all of those who reached out and blessed us with your hospitality and encouragement. The first summer as a married couple will always be a fond one, and I feel so blessed to know I got to share it with many of you. As we head out tomorrow, and as I write this a little too late into the night, I ask that you keep us in your prayers not only for our travel, but as we enter into a new season of ministry and a new life together. We feel so blessed to have each other to serve alongside with and we are hopeful and excited for what God has in store for us in Bolivia.
We will continue to post updates on a 2-3 week basis and we welcome any encouragement or communication you want to extend. We ask that you partner with us in our ministry and pray not only for us, but with us as we seek to share God's message of hope and grace to the Bolivian people. Prayer requests are posted on the homepage of the website and listed on the left side of the screen. We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and encouraged us as we seek to follow God's will to La Paz. Thank you and God Bless.
